Aligning Initiatives and Enhancing PMO Governance

Introduction
The "PMO and Strategy" project is an initiative aimed at aligning our 2024 strategic objectives with a dynamic portfolio of programmes, ensuring that every initiative is effectively cascaded and assigned across our organisation. This project is designed not only to synchronise our strategic goals with actionable projects but also to elevate the capabilities of our Operational Excellence & Planning team. By enhancing their Project Management Office (PMO) skills, we aim to provide more robust governance services, ensuring the successful execution of EMCOR UK's strategy.
Core Objectives
- 1. Alignment of Strategic Initiatives
We will effectively align our 2024 strategic initiatives with a comprehensive portfolio of projects. This alignment ensures that each strategic goal is directly linked to actionable projects, enabling clear direction and focus across the EMCOR UK organisation. - 2. Portfolio Cascade
Strategic initiatives will be cascaded and assigned across our organisation, ensuring that all levels within our organisation are engaged and accountable. Having a structured approach guarantees that strategic goals are understood and acted upon at all levels. - 3. PMO Enhancement
The Operational Excellence & Planning team will enhance their PMO capabilities. This includes providing training and resources to improve project management skills, ensuring that they can deliver more effective governance services in executing EMCOR UK's strategies. - 4. Strengthening Governance
There will be developments to the governance frameworks. This will be implemented within the PMO ensuring consistent oversight, quality control and successful execution of EMCOR UK's strategy. This objective focuses on instilling best practices and rigorous standards in project management.
Launch to Date
The "PMO and Strategy" project kicked off with a focused strategy workshop, bringing together key leaders and team members from across EMCOR UK.
The workshop was an opportunity to align on the 2024 strategic vision and establish the foundation for the project's successful execution. Participants were highly engaged, contributing valuable insights and demonstrating a strong commitment to driving the organization forward.
The initial phase has been met with enthusiasm, and the groundwork has been laid for effective implementation of both the strategic initiatives and the PMO enhancements.

Initial training on the PRESTO KPI Manager platform has included 2 weekly 90-minute sessions with the 2 key users.
Project Charter & Governance
As of 1 September 2024
