Quick Wins - Step 7 of 9

Request your first
KPI result update.

Review the Bowler Chart, identify KPI results that are due or still pending, and let Presto do the chasing. With Push E-mail and KPIConnect, managers can request structured KPI results directly from the people who own the data without asking them to navigate the full KPI dashboard.

Why this matters

Turn KPI reporting into a managed communication cycle.

Instead of collecting KPI results through spreadsheets, disconnected e-mails or manual follow-up, managers can use Presto to identify missing data and send a structured update request directly to KPI owners and Feeder users.

1

Spot what is missing

Use the Bowler Chart to see where results are pending, overdue or still awaiting owner input.

2

Ask the right people

Send a targeted Push E-mail to the RACI owners or data contributors responsible for the KPI result.

3

Standardise the response

KPIConnect gives recipients one focused panel for entering the result, commentary and supporting information.

KEY
KPIConnect keeps the reporting cycle structured without forcing every data owner into the dashboard.

Managers retain control of the KPI portfolio and governance cadence, while staff, vendors, clients or other Feeder users can contribute through a simple two-way update experience.

The workflow

A four-step KPI update cycle.

The process is deliberately similar to TaskConnect: identify the required update, push the request, let the KPI owner respond, and bring the submitted data back into the governance process.

Step 1

Open the Bowler Chart and find the KPIs that need attention.

Start from the KPI Dashboard and open the Bowler Chart for the team or KPI portfolio you are governing. Review the reporting periods and look for results that are pending, overdue or missing.

Look for

Where is fresh data required?

  • 1
Pending periodsIdentify reporting periods where the expected KPI result has not yet been provided.
  • 2
Overdue resultsPrioritise KPI records that have passed their scheduled reporting date.
  • 3
Assigned ownershipConfirm which RACI owner or Feeder user should provide the result.
  • 4
Clarification neededUse KPIConnect when an existing result also needs commentary or further explanation.
TIP
Start with a small number of clearly overdue or pending KPIs.

This makes it easy to understand the Push E-mail workflow and see how KPIConnect feeds data back into the Bowler Chart.

From the KPI Dashboard, first review Overdue KPI records, then click View All to identify results requiring owner input.
Step 2

Push the KPI update request to the right owners.

Select the KPI records that require fresh data, choose the appropriate RACI owners or Feeder users, add any useful context and send a rich HTML update request directly from Presto.

5

Step 3

The KPI owner receives the request.

Presto sends the selected owner a structured e-mail containing the KPI information that requires attention and a direct link into the KPIConnect feedback panel.

KPIConnect

A focused update experience.

The recipient does not need to navigate the full KPI dashboard. They can open the secure KPIConnect panel, review the KPI requiring attention and provide the requested information in just a few clicks.

ResultEnter the requested KPI number, percentage, amount or other measured value.
CommentAdd optional context explaining the result, performance or any important exception.
File / LinkAdd supporting evidence or a reference link when the KPI update benefits from additional context.
FAST
No complex KPI training required for the recipient.

The KPI owner only needs to understand the focused KPIConnect panel and the specific result being requested.

Step 4

Complete the KPI update and send it back to Presto.

The KPI owner enters the requested result, adds commentary or supporting information when required, then submits the completed update back to Presto.

1

Review the KPI

Confirm the KPI name, period, target and other context included in the update request.

2

Enter the result

Provide the requested number and any relevant commentary, files or links.

3

Submit the update

Confirm the information and send the completed KPIConnect response back into Presto.

NEXT
Manager validation protects data quality.

Where an approval step is enabled, the submitted result can be reviewed and accepted or rejected before it becomes the official KPI record. We will explore KPI approvals and deeper KPI governance in more advanced training.

Quick Win checklist

What does "done" look like?

For this Quick Win, the goal is to identify one pending KPI result, request the update from the appropriate owner, and understand how that person can feed the result back through KPIConnect.

1

You found a pending KPI

You can identify where fresh data is required from the Bowler Chart or KPI reporting view.

2

You pushed the request

The correct owner or Feeder user received a structured update request directly from Presto.

3

The result can flow back

The KPI owner can submit the result and supporting commentary through KPIConnect without using the full dashboard.

Quick Win 7 complete.

You have now seen how KPIConnect turns missing KPI data into a structured two-way communication process. Managers can identify pending results, contact the right owners and bring fresh data back into Presto without relying on spreadsheets or manual chasing.
