Administration • People & Teams Step 2 of 2

Adding Staff.

Populate your structure with the people who make the work happen.

Once your teams exist, add the people who support them. Staff can be created individually, uploaded in bulk or assigned from an existing Presto profile, giving your workspace the people context needed for tasks, KPIs and status updates.

Add the people context

A useful Org Chart needs more than boxes.

Adding staff gives Presto the context to identify the right people for work, accountability and performance updates throughout the organization.

1

Improve assignment choices

A richer staff population gives managers more accurate choices when assigning tasks, ownership and KPI responsibilities.

2

Enable status collection

Staff can later receive TaskConnect or KPIConnect requests when managers need project updates, actions or KPI results.

3

Build a realistic company map

Staff membership makes each team recognizable and turns the Org Chart into a practical representation of the business.

Start from the team

Open Staff Actions from the Organizational Chart.

Select the team you want to populate, open its Team Details panel and choose Staff Actions.

Same team card, different action

Move from managing the structure to managing its people.

On the previous page you used Team Actions to create the organizational structure. Now use Staff Actions to add the people who belong inside it.

  1. 1
Select the team Locate the team, function, department or site that the staff member should support.
  2. 2
Click the three dots Open the Team Details panel from the selected team card.
  3. 3
Select Staff Actions Choose Staff Actions to create, upload or assign staff to the selected team.
TIP
One team card gives you both setup routes.

Team Actions manages the organizational unit. Staff Actions manages the people who support that unit.

Staff Actions

Choose the fastest way to populate your team.

Presto supports different onboarding situations, from adding one person to loading a larger employee population or reusing somebody who already exists elsewhere in the company.

1

Create New Staff Member

Add a new individual directly from Staff Actions and place the person into the selected team.

2

Bulk Upload Staff

Use the supplied spreadsheet template to preload and upload multiple staff records efficiently.

3

Add Existing Staff to a Team

Reuse a staff profile that already exists in Presto rather than creating a duplicate person.

Create a staff record

Capture the information that makes the person useful in Presto.

The staff profile can hold identity, role, contact, location and licence information. Start with the essentials and refine the profile as required.

First-time setup

Create the person, place them in the team and save.

For your first pass, focus on the information needed to distinguish the staff member clearly and make them available for future workflows.

  1. 1
Create or select the staff member Add a new person, choose an existing profile or use the bulk upload option.
  2. 2
Confirm team membership Place the staff member into the team or teams that best represent their work.
  3. 3
Complete their core information Capture the relevant role, contact, title, contract, location and supporting profile information.
  4. 4
Assign licence rights where appropriate Give the person the Presto access level appropriate to how they are expected to participate.
  5. 5
Save The person is now represented within the team and available for future Presto workflows.
KEY
Not every person in the Org Chart needs a full Presto software licence.

Including non-dashboard users is still valuable. A more complete staff directory improves task and KPI assignment choices and allows managers to engage colleagues through supported status-update workflows.

Useful staff information

Build enough context to support the next workflows.

You do not need every field perfected on day one. Prioritize the information that helps the organization identify, place and engage the person correctly.

Team Membership Place the staff member into the team or teams that best represent their day-to-day work.
Role & Title Record useful organizational context so colleagues understand what the person does.
Location Associate the staff member with the appropriate country, city, site or office.
Existing Staff Add an already-created person to another team without producing duplicate contact records.
Bulk Upload Use the preloaded spreadsheet template when onboarding larger employee populations.
Role Allocation % Role allocation can later help show how staff time is distributed across responsibilities; deeper analysis is covered separately.
